I thought it would be a fun idea to highlight the many instruments used in the recording of my release The Stars and the Moon. The first instrument is this 2007 Gretsch G5122 hollow body electic guitar, which I purchased new in 2008. While this guitar demands to be played with a delicate touch, the player is rewarded with complex and interesting tones. On The Stars and the Moon, I found it very rewarding to pair the warm and round electric guitar tones against naked acoustic guitar arrangements. To accessorize the instrument, I was able to find an Elvis-style woven leather strap second-hand on eBay.
This guitar was featured on many songs of the album, including Currents, 3.3.2 and A Sort of Lullaby. The release The Stars and the Moon can be found on Magnatune Records, iTunes, BandCamp and many other music publishing sites.
