Instruments of the Album – 2007 Gretsch “Rancher” reissue

This reissue of a classic Gretsch jumbo acoustic has a rich warm mahogany tone, with mid-range that adds definition to playing. Much like it’s electric cousin, this Gretsch rewards players who use a restrained playing style. Many of the songs on The Stars and the Moon were written on this instrument, and I tended to reach for this instrument when it was time to lay down a rhythm track.

This guitar was feature on nearly every track on the recording, like: Completely, Open Doors, and 1.2.3. The release The Stars and the Moon can be found on Magnatune Records, iTunes, BandCamp and many other music publishing sites.
